PROJECT OVERVIEW
The Alkimos Seawater Desalination Plant is a 50 billion litre per year facility, expandable to 100 billion, securing Perth’s drinking water amid declining rainfall and growth. It features a desalination plant, tunneled ocean intake/discharge, a 33.5 km pipeline, and vegetated dunes for mitigation. Key challenges included complex marine works, environmental approvals, and integration with the Integrated Water Supply Scheme.
